For those of you who don’t follow Doug on Twitter, or don’t visit the front page, he wrote !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
When he asked me to be involved with the cover artwork, I was excited. I was so excited that I got straight to work and created a cover before even saying “yes.”
Unfortunately, It wasn’t
exactly
what he had in mind.
I learned a valuable lesson that day. I learned that it’s best if you let the client tell you what
they
want before making anything.
After getting a little direction, we ended up coming up with the cover, as well as the other green stuff you might see floating around near him on the internet.

Looks better than what they have coming out of the factory.

Thanks for opening an AMA today. I’ve been a fan for years!!!
What’s your next big project? A movie, or a book cover for Tavarish entitled “How To Fuck Up a Volkswagen in Three Easy Steps”?

Them chiseled abs tho.

Some industry sources say that Tavarish is actually writing a book called “How to make the best click bait: Stories from the shittiest writer at Jalopnik” and the cover shows some of his douchiest writing

It was hard to get him to sit still for that long for the portrait.

I can’t speak much for my next project. I’m still a little worn out from moving around and resizing all those silhouettes.
My last project, however, was a “wanted sign” for the lizard that got into my mother’s house. She is having some remodeling done, and offered a reward to any laborer who could catch it.
After she upped it to $25, it was caught by noon.

Nah, he's good at what he does. It's different than what the rest of the Jalopnik staff write, though.

I watched Django Unchained last night, so I know that this was a damned good bounty.

Legitimately, this is the funniest thing I’ve read on here in forever. I actually openly laughed for entire moments.
McMike has made me green, everyone. I AM GREEN COURTESY OF MCMIKE.

I belive that’s the brand of towel the laborer used to pick up the lizard.
Explains why he was the quicker picker upper.

1/10 nothing from Screenshot Roulette.

She was absolutely terrified of the thing, and was upset that I could not find it when I went over. I tried, but everything in the house is so displaced by the remodeling, it could have been anywhere.
She had to stay at our house the other night because of it. She asked me if I could make up (waves finger around as if drawing on an imaginary piece of paper)
“One of those pictures on the computer”
of a reward sign for her to hang at the house the next day.

It says “dead or...”. Did they not want to just stomp on it?! I mean, I wouldn't, but...

AGREE.

She wanted it dead, and she told them she wanted to see if before any bounty was paid.

That’s not a lizard, that’s a spotted salamander. Pretty sure they’re endangered too. I see one every once in a while, always find them pretty neat because they’re like 5x the size of the regular salamanders you’d usually find. What I really want to find is a hellbender though.

How were you able to avoid using the Rutledge quick tool while creating this masterpiece?

She said it was a salamander, so I made salamader picture.
Turns out it was a skink.
